Initial Consultation

Once an enquiry has been received, an initial site visit will be arranged to view the garden and discuss the client’s brief and budget. This meeting is a good opportunity for the client to share their ideas and aspirations for their garden. Following this meeting a quotation for the design work will be submitted.

Site Survey

A topographical survey will be carried out to accurately locate and plot all the existing features and levels within the site prior to any design work.

Concept Design

The concept design phase is the most important part of the process. Ideas will be worked up based on the client’s brief and take the form of hand-drawn sketches, mood boards, elevations and sketch views of the garden. Once the client is happy with the proposals they will serve as a basis for the detailed design plans.

Detailed Design Layout Plans

The concept proposals are finely tuned to produce a more detailed layout plan. This, together with accompanying sections, elevations and construction details, where necessary, are the plans that a landscape contractor will work from. The contractor will be able to cost, set out and construct the garden from these drawings.

Planting Plans

An accurate planting plan will be designed to include all species and varieties of plants together with their spacing and quantities. This plan can be used for costings, ordering and setting the plants on site.

Plant Supply and Planting

Once the garden is ready plants can be sourced from the relevant nurseries, set out as per the planting plans and planted. An easy to understand maintenance schedule can be prepared to ensure the plants receive the best care and attention over subsequent growing seasons and ensure the garden reaches its full potential.
